General Rules

 

1. Riders must be correctly dressed wearing jodhpurs, hard hats with chin strap secured and hard boots.

2. No studs allowed in the gymkhana ring.

3. It is a rider’s responsibility to present them self to the collecting ring on time (exceptions will be made for those riders competing in other areas so long as the starter has been notified)

4. When called to the start line all riders must line up behind the start line and await the starters whistle.

5. If any rider or their pony obstructs another rider, which leads to that rider having to avoid the obstruction, then they will be eliminated.

6. All mistakes must be corrected immediately before continuing the race.

7. All equipment can be corrected from the floor if a mistake has been made, providing it has already been attempted mounted.

8. During tiny tots where a rider has a holder, the holder is only there for safety, and the runner must lift the rider on and off the pony during an on off race.

9. All equipment must be standing having crossed the finish line

Any objection must be made in writing and accompanied by a £20 deposit which is forfeit unless the committee decides there was good and reasonable grounds.

SHOW RULES

The Committee reserve the right to alter any schedule at their discretion.

 Competitors are to obey instructions given by stewards and officers of the Committee to ensure efficient running of the Show.

A Competitor may be disqualified from any class for not obeying rules.

The Judges decision shall be final in all matters arising from the Show.

An objection must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the competitor leaving the arena, stating the nature of the objection, your name and accompanied by a cash deposit of £30.00.  If the objection is upheld the deposit will be refunded.

All Competitors must wear correct riding clothes.  Protective headgear must be worn at all times when mounted, with chin strap properly adjusted and fastened

Competitors in jumping events must wear jodhpurs and riding/jodhpur boots, riding jackets are compulsory in all classes. (On really hot days long sleeved shirts/blouses may be permitted

Competitors in gymkhana events must wear jodhpurs and jodhpur boots or hard shoes, trainers will not be allowed, shoulders and midriffs must be covered.

No spurs or studs to be used in gymkhana groups

No crops to be used by competitor or leader in lead rein groups

No schooling whips to be used in either ring

No cantering or galloping allowed outside the arena’s

Every member of the Club by the completion of their membership form, agrees to be bound by the rules, regulations and by-laws made thereunder and has agreed that the decision of the Committee given in accordance therewith shall be final and binding upon them.

No member of Exhall and Bedworth Riding Club shall:-

    •  Conduct him/herself  in a manner which is offensive to other members of the Club or the public.
    •   Argue with a judge or show official, or use abusive or threatening language, incivility or contempt towards a judge or show official.
    •   Ill-treat in any way a horse/pony at a show whether inside or outside the arena.
    •   Misuse or use excessively a whip or spur.
    •   Deliberately use the action of the bit as a mean of punishment and/or misuse any item of saddlery in a manner likely to cause pain or discomfort to the horse/pony
